Alternative comparison · updated October 2026
Apollo is a sales platform with a B2B contact and company database, email outreach and deal tools. Small teams tend to look for something else for three reasons: the setup takes real time, the work after the list is still done by a person, and the cost grows with the number of people who log in. Rocketship is one product that gets a business customers. It finds buyers by name, emails them from your own Gmail, follows up, answers replies, books the meeting and answers your phone, on flat plans from $24.99 a month. If you already have an Apollo export, you can bring it over for free.
Disclosure: Rocketship publishes this page. Apollo details come from the pricing page at apollo.io/pricing as read in October 2026. Apollo changes plans often, so check their page for current prices.
The cost math
Start with what you actually pay for. A database is an input. A customer is an output. Between the two sit the list, the sequence, the follow-ups, the replies and the calendar. Some of that is software and some of it is a person's afternoon. When you compare any database tool to Rocketship, count the afternoons too.
Here is the arithmetic on a small outbound push. Say you want to work 200 named buyers with four emails each. That is 800 emails. A single new Gmail inbox ramps up gradually to 60 cold emails a day, so 800 emails is about 14 working days at the top rate, and longer while the inbox is still ramping. On Rocketship that is the Frontier plan at $79 a month, which includes 200 leads a month. The follow-ups and the replies are handled by the AI workers instead of a person watching a queue.
If you want to see what Apollo will cost you, open their pricing page and multiply their per-user price by the number of people who will log in. We are not quoting their per-user numbers here because the page did not show them clearly when we read it. Rocketship's plans are published and do not charge per login on Launch or Frontier. Mission Control includes 25 teammates and charges $15 a month for each extra one.
Importing is free. Rocketship reads Apollo and HubSpot exports directly, so the list you already built does not go to waste. A lead is only used when Rocketship starts working a contact, so a large import does not burn your monthly allowance. Finding new people uses enrichment credits (100 on Launch, 250 on Frontier, 6,500 on Mission Control).
