Alternative comparison · updated October 2026
A lead generation agency finds prospects and contacts them on your behalf, usually for a monthly retainer or a fee per meeting. Owners look for an alternative when the fee is hard to justify before any proof, when the emails go out from a domain that is not theirs, or when they want to see every message. Rocketship is one product that finds buyers by name, emails them from your own Gmail, follows up, answers replies, books the meeting and answers the phone. Plans start at $24.99 a month, and a phone line is $5 a month extra. Agency fees vary too much to quote one, so ask for the number in writing.
Disclosure: Rocketship publishes this page. We do not quote agency prices because they vary by agency and scope. Ask any agency for its fee, its contract length and who owns the sending domain in writing.
The cost math
Agency prices differ widely, so this page does not put a number on them. What it can do is show you the math to run on whatever quote you get. Take the monthly fee and divide it by the number of meetings you expect to get from it. That is your cost per meeting. Then divide your average deal value by your close rate to see what a meeting is worth to you.
For example, say a quote is $3,000 a month and you expect 6 meetings. That is $500 a meeting. If you close one meeting in four and each deal is worth $2,000, a meeting is worth $500 on average, and you have roughly broken even before your own time. Those figures are invented to show the arithmetic. Use yours.
Rocketship's side of the math is simpler because the price is flat. Frontier is $79 a month with 200 leads a month. Over a quarter that is $237. If you book even one meeting a month from it, the cost per meeting is $79 or less, and if you book none you have a clear signal to change the message or the list before you spend more.
An agency brings people and experience. Rocketship brings speed, cost and visibility. If you do not yet know who your buyer is or what to say to them, a good agency can help you figure that out. If you do, software is enough to run it.
What an agency is built for
An agency gives you people who write, send and manage the campaigns, and often advise on positioning. You are paying for their time and judgment. The terms vary, so the useful questions are who owns the domain and the data, what counts as a lead, and how you leave.
