The job behind this search is simple: get a correct email and phone number for a named list of people. Seamless.AI sells that as a search tool with credits. Its homepage says it is free for up to 50 credits and that after that there are "many pricing options," so there is no single price to quote. To compare it with anything, use cost per usable contact: what you pay in a month divided by the contacts that came back correct. This page shows how to work that out from each vendor's published plan structure, and how to test the data on 25 people before you pay.
What is said about Seamless.AI comes from its homepage and its own help articles, as published on their site, October 2026. Its pricing page did not return plan prices when I read it, so no price is stated for it here. Ask for a quote in writing.
What the job is
A small team usually needs one of three things from contact data. A list of people to write to, built from nothing. The missing email or phone for people you already know about. Or a check that the addresses you have will not bounce. These are different purchases. Paying for a 10,000-contact allowance to fill in 40 missing emails, or for a list tool when you only needed a verifier, is the common waste.
What Seamless.AI sells and how it charges
The homepage describes "a real-time search engine that helps B2B companies find accurate sales leads," and claims "1.8B+ verified business emails and 414M+ phone numbers." Treat the coverage figures as claims until your own test supports them. It also offers outreach and AI features.
The credit rules come from its help articles. It uses Universal Credits. Researching a contact with the Find button costs 1 credit per contact. Enriching a contact or a spreadsheet row costs 1 credit. AI assistant interactions cost a fraction of a credit (0.2 per interaction), and AI-generated messages in campaigns cost 0.2 each. By license, the articles say a Free license gets 50 Universal Credits that do not replenish, a Basic license gets 250 a month, and a Pro license gets 10,000 a month, refreshing on the contract date. The pages list no dollar amounts for these licenses.
Four approaches to contact data
Four approaches cover the field. By hand: you find names on company sites and check addresses with a verifier. It costs time and works for dozens of contacts. A finder with published prices: pay per found email. A contact database: search by title and company, pay by credit or seat, sometimes by quote. Contacts found inside the outreach tool: the contact data is part of the plan that sends the mail.
For named databases, the existing pages Rocketship versus Apollo and Rocketship versus Clay state the published facts. For finders that publish prices, Hunter.io alternatives works through one such plan. For person-by-person lookup, see RocketReach alternatives.
Cost per verified contact
The formula is the same for every vendor: monthly cost divided by contacts that came back correct. What changes is how many contacts a credit buys and what the vendor charges for the month. The table fills in what is published. Where a price is not published, the cell says so rather than guess.
| Approach | Published structure | Cost per usable contact |
|---|---|---|
| Search tool with Universal Credits | 1 credit per contact researched; Basic license 250 credits a month; price by quote | Quote divided by usable contacts; see the example below |
| Finder on a plan shaped like Hunter Starter | $49 a month for 2,000 credits; 1 credit finds an email, 0.5 verifies one | $0.49 each at 100 verified a month |
| Inside the outreach tool (Rocketship) | 1 credit to add a person; 5 for a verified phone and email, charged only when found; 100 credits a month on Launch | Plan price is shared with the sending; about 20 fully verified contacts a month on Launch |
| By hand with a verifier | Your time | About 3 minutes a contact in my estimate |
Here is the first row with a made-up quote, which you should replace with your own. Say a quote comes back at $150 a month for 250 credits. That is $0.60 per contact researched. Now say 7 in 10 researched contacts come back with an email that passes verification. That is 175 usable contacts, so the real cost is $150 divided by 175, about $0.86 each. If only 5 in 10 pass, it is 125 contacts and $1.20 each. The credit price matters less than the share of results you can use.
The Rocketship row needs a caution. Launch is $24.99 a month and covers a lot more than data: the AI worker that sends email and makes calls, and 50 leads a month. So a per-contact figure would overstate what you pay for data alone. If a verified phone and email costs 5 credits, 100 credits is about 20 fully verified contacts, and adding a person without verification costs 1 credit, so 100 credits is 100 names. Enrichment credits explained plainly explains why those two allowances differ, and the pricing page lists the plans.
Checking data before paying
Run the same test on any vendor, using their trial or entry allowance. Take 25 people whose correct email and phone you already know: customers, past replies, colleagues elsewhere. Look each one up without peeking. For each, mark the title, the email and the phone as right, wrong or missing. Then verify or send test mail to the emails and count bounces. A reasonable pass mark is 20 of 25 with the right person and a working email, and no more than one wrong. A wrong answer costs more than a miss, because it can send mail to a stranger. For the longer method, see lead data you can check before paying.
When to skip a database
If your list is under 100 people you can name, if you sell to local businesses whose owners are on their own websites, or if you only need to check addresses you already have, a database allowance is more than the job needs. Start with the 25-contact test on whatever you have, and spend credits only on the people you plan to write to this month.
Rocketship finds the buyers by name, emails them from your own Gmail, follows up, and books the meeting on its own. Plans that get you customers start at $24.99 a month (Launch), and every monthly plan starts with a 7-day free trial, card required. Answering your existing number is included; a dedicated line is $5 a month. See the AI workers.
