Customer acquisition cost for a small business: the formula, what to count (including your own time), two worked examples, and how to read the result.

A receptionist costs more than the salary once you count payroll tax, a desk, holiday cover and the two weeks of training you get nothing back from. An answering service costs more than the quoted rate, because per-minute pricing bills you most for your longest and most valuable conversations.
The comparison that matters is not between two monthly fees. It is between a monthly fee and the work you are currently losing without ever seeing an invoice for it.
The same arithmetic applies to the rest of the stack. A lead database, a sending tool, a scheduler and a CRM each have a price, and so does the founder time spent gluing them together.
These do the arithmetic with real numbers, including break-even math and what each pricing model does to you at different volumes.
